| DMWFC Needs Your Help | |
 |
True Vine Evangelical Church needs laborers of all kinds to join us in the DMWFC mission to claim these hurting souls for the kingdom of God. We need hands on volunteers, food, supplies and financial gifts to pay our expenses. Some of the ways you and the members of your congregation can help include:
-
Cooking food to bring to our recovery houses. We feed approx. twenty men a day who are committed to a one year life recovery program that is designed to raise up disciples for Jesus Christ from among those who formerly labored for the adversary in the streets.
-
Sending mission teams from your church with carpenters, painters, electricians and gardeners who will help repair & maintain our church and our three recovery houses.
-
Bringing coats, clothes, shoes, socks, belts and underwear for our clothes closet to meet the needs of the men who often arrive with nothing when they leave the street and enter our program.
-
Begin an outreach prayer ministry where intercessors from your church pray for individuals in our recovery program and our church. We will be happy to supply you with a short bio and picture of individuals you can pray for. The prayers of your people can and will change things as they pray God's Word over the lives of our men.
-
Having a food and supply drive at your church to stock our food pantry. We always need coffee, sugar, toilet paper and laundry detergent.
-
Making hygiene kits with deodorant, tooth paste, razors, shaving products, lotion and shampoo for the men's personal care.
-
Providing gas cards for the church vans or helping with repairs and maintenance on our church vehicles
-
Dropping off milk, eggs, bread, butter or other perishable items for our houses.
-
Collecting Bibles, Christian music, movies and reading materials for our recovery houses so that the things we feed the spirit of those in recovery with will bring forth the fruit of the Spirit rather than the fruit of the street. We also need Bibles for the pews in our church. The folks who walk in off the street usually do not have a Bible. Any large print Bibles are always a blessing.
-
Donating band-aids, Neosporin, Ibuprofen, Tylenol, antacids, antihistamines and other NON-addictive flu and cold remedies for our locked medicine cabinet. The bodies of people recovering from addiction need all the same health care that you need for the ailments of your family. If it is in your medicine cabinet we probably need the same thing to help someone too. Our medicine cabinet is kept locked at all times and medication is only dispensed by the pastors as they feel it is legitimately needed. For obvious reasons we do not allow any addictive cold remedies in our recovery homes. A cough drop, sore throat lozenge or an aspirin is a great gift when someone needs it.
-
Donate paper, envelopes and stamps so we can communicate with other ministries.
-
Having the children and adults of your congregation draw pictures and send cards or letters of encouragement to the men in our program. A hand drawn picture from a child or a word of encouragement from an older person may be just what inspires a man to persevere on a difficult day.
-
Making a cash gift to help pay our utility bills, insurance costs and other necessary expenses. |
