"How Great is Our God"
by Chris Tomlin

"Equipping Men and Women to Become Difference Makers in the World"

Under the leadership of Elder Ralph Garth, True Vine Evangelical Church actually began as a Christian residential recovery ministry (Discipling Men and Women for Christ - DMWFC) helping men and women overcome the addiction of drugs and alcohol.  However, after helping people get their lives straightened out it was discovered that some churches did not feel comfortable with reformed alcohol and drugs addicts in their services, and these men and women would feel uncomfortable being there.

In 2004 Elder Garth who is now Pastor Garth, established a working agreement with Grace Presbyterian church, to have and open up the old Grace Presbyterian church located in Avondale, Alabama where drug users, the homeless, prostitutes, underprivileged and disadvantaged men and women could come and find hope in Jesus Christ.  As a result, on March 1, 2004 the ministry developed into a full-fledged church with regular worship services every Sunday, and bible studies on Wednesday nights. Pastor Garth and his wife Kathleen and the True Vine Evangelical Church Family have made their outreach and rehabilitation ministries the main emphasis of True Vine Evangelical Church.
